John and I made a lot of progress this weekend.  After spending 2.5 hours at Babies R Us and running tons of errands on Saturday, we spent Sunday put lots together and cleaning out the nursery to get ready for the next weekend of painting.  Check out all of our new pieces.

A little trip to the doctors office today for the stardard 34 week appointment, but after spending a few weeks measuring the doctor asked me "Do you have your bags packed yet"  -- I looked up and smiled ummm No-- I still have 6 weeks left...he said "You might want to start kicking it into gear just in case."  So I guess the weekend we have lots to do...Stay tuned in 2 weeks for another check up and we will get to see if I have a made any progress. 33 Weeks - Hot Mamma

I can't believe our little guy is the size of a honeydew now.  17.2 to 18.7 in, 4.2 to 5.8lb. Baby may grow up to a full inch this week alone, and his brain is developing like crazy. Pretty soon, he'll be able to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing. Also, his bones are hardening, and he's started to keep his eyes open when he's awake.

We have had an exciting week.  We spent the weekend in KC where my wonderful friends Rachel and Ellen and My mom and Sister threw us a wonderful shower to celebrate our new little arrival.  It was so nice to see so many of my friends and my family.  I feel so blessed and lucky and so does little XP!  He has lots of new toys, clothes and goodies that his daddy will have to put together.  We also go our crib!  YEAH!!! We picked it up Friday morning and although it is still in the box we can't wait to put it together.  Maybe this will get me motivated to get to get his room all set up.  We also go a cradle from my parents that Janele used to be in.  It is so special and my dad has had lots of fun sending us photos of Raggedy Andy playing in it.  ENJOY!

My office also through me a nice little shower over lunch...everyone was so generous and it was so special. We are going to use the gift card to get the car seat!

This weekend we are going to an all day class to learn about the "Great Expectation" of childbirth. We are excited yet scared all at the same time.

I am feeling good.  Getting more tired everyday and defiantly getting winded easier, it is getting more difficult to bend down and put my shoes on.  I think John might have to help me out soon!  Bathroom breaks are getting more frequent, especially at night.   I can't believe only 7 weeks left!  Enjoy the photos from the shower!

Leah and I are 3 days apart with
our due date for our little boys.

Week 31

We made it to week 31 let the baby bump photos start with only 8 1/2 weeks this little man is really starting to grow and kick a lot.  I am still feeling really good.  I can sleep through the night pretty well with just a few bathroom breaks.  No major cravings yet! Just some heartburn - tums please!  Getting up our 3 flights of stairs to our condo is starting to take my breathe away.  We made a trip to Babies R Us and bought diapers and other supplies that we will need!  We are still working on getting the nursery set up, little by little it will get done.  This week we went to look at some daycare options for when I go back to work we saw 2 we like ans put ourselves on the wait list.  Now we just wait!

We also went to our first prenatal class to learn all about feeding our baby.  It was very educational and John was such a good sport with our baby!

Talk to you next week!

Week 30 - What a slacker

So I think I am already heading into Mommy world...I am such a slacker...I haven't updated the blog since Week 19 and I am 11 weeks farther along.  Wow I am not good!  Well since I last posted lots has happened.

We are having a beautiful BABY BOY!!!! - We shocked our family over Thanksgiving with a Blue cake (Ha Ha Get It).  It was a scene right out of Seinfeld -- only Janele really got it at first!  I am ever growing as this little man continues to kick and turn he is starting to give me some interesting pain.  We had our 28th week appointment and all check out perfectly.  So time is quickly ticking down.  I can't believe we only have 10 weeks left.  So much to do.

For the holidays we flew to Boston to spend a few days with John's family. We had such a nice time and a surprise joint shower was thrown for me and Katie (John's Cousin) who is getting married in March.  Sadly a little too close to our due date we will not be able to make it to the festivities.

I am really starting to feel the pressure both in my stomach and all around me to get lots of things done before the baby gets here! Everyone keeps telling me that somehow it will all get done so only time will tell.  I plan to work until the due date so there will be no rest for me just have to make do all I can on the weekends and after work.

In Febuary we will get to go the hospital to check things out and to go to a few classes so that we are prepared for the gift of life.

And yes we have few names picked out. But we are not telling anyone till he arrives.  A little surprise never hurt anyone!

The Mango ATE your Baby!

Greetings from Week 19!  I am almost halfway there and I think we have finally popped!  The bulge is starting to happen and I have gone from just looking a little chubby to actually looking pregnant.  Our little XP has done lots of growing now the size of a mango!  In 2 short weeks it has grown almost a whole inch!  And has gained 1.5 ounces!  I am finding out all sorts of interesting things happening to my body... things are starting to get hard in my mid section and it is becoming more difficult for me to stretch, yawn and climb into bed -- I am also having some serious pains from my hip and pelvis area, so I will be making a trip next week to the chiropractor to see if she can start to relieve some of that pain.  "They" say it will only get worse so I want to already start a good routine.  I also found out a good friend of mine is pregnant as well so we have signed up for Prenatal Yoga classes together on Saturday mornings.  It should be nice to have sometime to focus on stretching and making room for out little baby! My next appointment has actually be moved until after Thanksgiving!  So everyone will have to wait until after the Holidays to find out the sex of our little XP!

Keep checking back for more posts!

Onion!

So at week 17 the average size of the baby is 5.1 inch about the size of an onion.  Here is a visual to help you out.  2 weeks ago the baby was just 4 inch so in 2 weeks it has grown a whole inch!  John and I went to our 16 week appointment on Friday (10/30) - they checked the babies heart with a Doppler - it was a 150 beats per min which is great.  My doctor assured me that although I feel like a weigh about 1,000 pounds I have only gained 1 pound. And she was impressed I was still able to wear my regular jeans.   How is that possible?  I feel like I have quite a little beer belly situation happening (Note:  I am not drinking any beer).  I am still squeezing into my regular clothes but I am becoming very limited -- this weekend it might be time to check out the Bella Band and perhaps take a trip to Target to get a few other options.  I felt some weird sensations that might be the baby kicking but I am not for sure yet!  There are many other factors that it could be, I will spare you the visuals. I also have been noticing new bumps and lumps in my stomach area, the doctor says it is my ribs floating and all the organs moving upwards, nice right.   Anywho--I am feeling so much better.  Really have only had a few headaches lately so that is exciting, I have actually been able to do things around the house.  I finally opened the folder that the doc. gave me at my first appointment and found lots of good stuff that I need to do.  I told the doctor how bad I was not to have filled out all the materials and she assured me that I am fine and that I can do it all in my 3rd trimester so I am fine.  She said we are a good match because John and I are so laid back and have such a calm demeanor.  Ha Ha! We will see if that holds true.  Our next appointment is our 20 week - which is when if we want-we can find out what the sex of XP is!  We haven't decided what we are going to do yet - I think paper, rocks, scissors might be how we determine it - Stay tuned for more info after Nov. 23rd to find out who won the paper, rock, and scissors!
