The Mango ATE your Baby!

Greetings from Week 19!  I am almost halfway there and I think we have finally popped!  The bulge is starting to happen and I have gone from just looking a little chubby to actually looking pregnant.  Our little XP has done lots of growing now the size of a mango!  In 2 short weeks it has grown almost a whole inch!  And has gained 1.5 ounces!  I am finding out all sorts of interesting things happening to my body... things are starting to get hard in my mid section and it is becoming more difficult for me to stretch, yawn and climb into bed -- I am also having some serious pains from my hip and pelvis area, so I will be making a trip next week to the chiropractor to see if she can start to relieve some of that pain.  "They" say it will only get worse so I want to already start a good routine.  I also found out a good friend of mine is pregnant as well so we have signed up for Prenatal Yoga classes together on Saturday mornings.  It should be nice to have sometime to focus on stretching and making room for out little baby! My next appointment has actually be moved until after Thanksgiving!  So everyone will have to wait until after the Holidays to find out the sex of our little XP!

Onion!

So at week 17 the average size of the baby is 5.1 inch about the size of an onion.  Here is a visual to help you out.  2 weeks ago the baby was just 4 inch so in 2 weeks it has grown a whole inch!  John and I went to our 16 week appointment on Friday (10/30) - they checked the babies heart with a Doppler - it was a 150 beats per min which is great.  My doctor assured me that although I feel like a weigh about 1,000 pounds I have only gained 1 pound. And she was impressed I was still able to wear my regular jeans.   How is that possible?  I feel like I have quite a little beer belly situation happening (Note:  I am not drinking any beer).  I am still squeezing into my regular clothes but I am becoming very limited -- this weekend it might be time to check out the Bella Band and perhaps take a trip to Target to get a few other options.  I felt some weird sensations that might be the baby kicking but I am not for sure yet!  There are many other factors that it could be, I will spare you the visuals. I also have been noticing new bumps and lumps in my stomach area, the doctor says it is my ribs floating and all the organs moving upwards, nice right.   Anywho--I am feeling so much better.  Really have only had a few headaches lately so that is exciting, I have actually been able to do things around the house.  I finally opened the folder that the doc. gave me at my first appointment and found lots of good stuff that I need to do.  I told the doctor how bad I was not to have filled out all the materials and she assured me that I am fine and that I can do it all in my 3rd trimester so I am fine.  She said we are a good match because John and I are so laid back and have such a calm demeanor.  Ha Ha! We will see if that holds true.  Our next appointment is our 20 week - which is when if we want-we can find out what the sex of XP is!  We haven't decided what we are going to do yet - I think paper, rocks, scissors might be how we determine it - Stay tuned for more info after Nov. 23rd to find out who won the paper, rock, and scissors!

Size of a Naval Orange

Continuing the march toward normal proportions, baby's legs now out-measure his arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably can't feel the movements just yet.

Thought I would share where we are in our process.  It is fun to image our little XP as the size of an orange now.  This has been a pretty rough week for me...maybe the baby has been squirming so much that is making me sick but for whatever reason the second trimester "honeymoon" period isn't happening for this mommy!  I can't wait for the day when i don't feel sick and tired.  We are heading to the doctor next week to listen more to the heartbeat and run more tests.  Hopefully we will have more photos to share.

Thanks for reading!

The Bean at 12 Weeks

We are so happy to show our little bean to the world. Or as my dad calls it "XP" X for no name and no sex and P for Polihronis. I have finally hit my second trimester and for the last 3 days I have started to feel like I am finally back to myself, I can stay up past 9PM and I can eat whatever I want without feeling bad. YEAH!!! Over the last 3 days all I have wanted is lots of orange I guess "XP" likes vitamin C. John has been so great - taking care of both of us. What a good dad he is going to make.

We got our new bedroom furniture and entertainment center. We have a beautiful King Size bed. Which will be perfect for the 3 of us. Rub-a-Dub-Dub :) It is so nice and comfy. A little high it comes up to my waist - should be pretty funny as I get bigger to watch me get up on the bed.

Keep watching for more posts!

The Future Polihronis

Thanks for checking out our Blog. We wanted a place to share all of the excitement of our future little bean with the people that mean the most to us. We found out we were pregnant and immediately were so excited. We couldn't wait to share the news with our friends and family. Our next doctors appointment is October 2nd. We can't to be done with the first trimester. I have been feeling really tired and a little quizzy at times. Most days are pretty good but some have been a little more difficult. But I have been told that I am lucky that I have been able to function for the most part.

Stay tuned for more photos and more thoughts!
